Types Of Epilepsy And Treatment As Per Ayurveda

1. Vataja

According to different experts, this type of epilepsy occurs due to disturbance in Vata.
Different type of symptoms of this epilepsy are given below –
a) The fits come every 12 days
b) Convulsions and repeated seizures
c) Seeing straight
d) Unusual moaning sounds
e) Foam from mouth
f) Unsteady head
g) Stretching of hands and feet
h) Pain in the head
i) Increased deep breathing
j) Grinding of teeth
k) Pain in the chest region, and Eyes bulging out

2. Pitaja

Disturbance in Pitta is responsible for this type of epilepsy and symptoms for this epilepsy are given below –
a) The fits come in 15 days
b) Repeated seizures at short intervals
c) Sweating and fainting attacks
d) Seeing fierce, shining, and frightening objects
e) Yellowish foam from the mouth
f) A sensation of hot surroundings
g) Increased thirst
h) The yellow color of the face, eyes, and skin
i) Restlessness
j) Shortly repeated attacks and quick recovery

3. Kaphaja

The main reason for Kaphaja is abnormal presentation of Kapha. We are listing down different kind of symptoms occurs in this kaphaja –
b) Long gaps between seizures
b) Delayed recovery of consciousness
c) Fainting
d) Increased watering of the mouth
e) Increased phlegm
f) Whitish nails, face, and skin
g) A sensation of cold
h) Heaviness in the body and eyes
i) Erection of hairs of the skin
j) Nausea
k) Sleeplessness
l) An aura of white shadow in the body
m) White foam from the mouth

4. Sannipataja

Sannipataja is a mixture of all the above types of epilepsy. All the above symptoms got overlapped with each other. This type of epilepsy is somewhere incurable and very difficult to cure.
